This privacy policy applies to the Spendwy Android app published by Nauman Majeed under the package name com.spendwy.app.
Effective date: June 1, 2026.
Information stored on your device
Spendwy may store the following information locally on your device:
- Transactions that you add manually.
- Transaction drafts created from bank or wallet notifications.
- Categories, accounts, budgets, currencies, groups, members, shared expenses, and settlements.
- Raw bank or wallet notification text when needed for review, parsing, diagnostics, or correction.
- App settings such as onboarding completion and selected currency.
- Diagnostic logs created by the app to help troubleshoot issues.
Notification access
Spendwy can use Android Notification Access to read bank, wallet, or transaction alerts that appear as device notifications. This is used to create transaction drafts for your review. Spendwy does not read your SMS inbox and does not request SMS permissions.
Every detected transaction is shown for review. You can approve, edit, or dismiss it. The app does not automatically add detected notifications to your confirmed spending records without your review.
How information is used
Information stored by Spendwy is used to:
- Show your spending, income, budgets, and account activity.
- Prepare transaction drafts from bank and wallet notifications.
- Power splits, shared expense balances, and settlement records.
- Export or import your own data when you choose to use those features.
- Help diagnose problems when you choose to share diagnostic information.
Export, import, and diagnostics
Spendwy includes export and import tools so you can control your own records. When you export data, the file is created on your device and may be shared using Android system sharing tools only if you choose to share it.
Diagnostic logs may include app events and error information. You control whether to send diagnostic details to the developer for support.
Data retention and deletion
Your app data remains on your device until you delete it, clear app storage, uninstall the app, or use in app cleanup features. Stored notification alerts and diagnostic logs may be purged by the app according to local retention settings.
Children
Spendwy is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Future services
If Spendwy later adds optional cloud sync, account login, receipt OCR, subscriptions, analytics, or crash reporting, this policy will be updated before those features are released. Any such feature will be disclosed in the app and in the Google Play Data safety section.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy when the app changes or when legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will show when the policy was last updated.
